OMG i just read that the new joni mitchell album someone in this tribe spoke about is coming out at starbucks soon. starbucks: surprising huh?

I was gleefully perusing a recent biography and was fLoORd by something I read about the song "Man from MArs" (from Taming the Tiger)

Now, just so you know, I've found that song to be obliteratingly heart-breaking :-0 (I cry fairly easily, but this is ridiculous) ..anyway, what a gorgeous and sad song about a lost love... "I can't get through the day without at least one big boo-hoo", she sings.

-It turns out the song was written ABOUT HER CAT!! The darned animal ran off and disappeard one day!

DOn't get me wrong - I love cats too! It just put a different sorta spin on the song.

Joni Mitchell is a goddess in every sense. :-)

Joni's Come In From the Cold Video Collection

Does anyone remember Joni's VHS release a while back which included some of her best Geffen videos. The gorgeous "Come In From the Cold" was included--absolutely lush! Also, "Night Ride Home" and "Two Grey Rooms" were superb! She included commentary about her photography and her process as an artist. Sadly this tape went out of print. Does anyone know if there are plans to re-release this on DVD? I'm ready to start a petition. How about a full compilation tape of her best studio videos including "How Do You Stop?" and "Good Friends?" Joni forever!

favorite albums/songs?

so far i only have i think 4 or 5 joni albums (i'm a new follower!). i am in love with "blue" and "hejira" - both move me to tears.

check out the new joni mitchell dvds, too! i have not seen the concert one, but the documentary is just amazing.

I have a few recordings of tracks sung by James Taylor and Joni- California, Real Good for Free, The Circle Game and You Can Close Your Eyes-

What I'm wondering is if anyone has heard anymore? or if there is anywhere to find the other recordings from that show... they are live recordings and Joni and James have some fantastic banter and the commentaries regarding the songs are amazing.
